Description

Upon the torture and execution of his human wife Lisa in 1476, the vampiric Count Vlad Tepes Dracula begins his quest of vengeance against humanity. Using his dark sorcery, he begins taking over Europe piece by piece. His armies of Hell prowling the Transylvanian landscape and beyond, many an innocent man, woman, and child are savagely murdered, including the family of the acrobatic Grant Danasty. Seeking revenge against Count Dracula, Grant attempts to infiltrate Castlevania, Dracula's castle fortress, and kill the Count himself. He fails to do so, and is transformed into a hideous monster while in the clock tower.

He is later encountered by none other than Trevor Belmont, of the then-infamous Belmont clan, who fights him with his holy Vampire Killer whip and thus lifts the curse placed upon him by Dracula. His human form and memory regained, he aids Trevor in his quest to infiltrate the castle and vanquish its master once and for all. Along the way, they also encounter the church-ordained vampire huntress and sorceress Sypha Belnades, and even Dracula's rebellious son, Adrian Farenheights Tepes, or as he prefers, "Alucard."

Through much pain and sacrifice, the four of them destroy Count Dracula and restore peace to the Transylvanian countryside. The honor is restored to Trevor Belmont's family name, as well as his place in society. Sypha marries Trevor, and finally begins to feel comfortable with herself as she now finds a place and a man to belong with. Alucard plunges himself into what he intends to be an eternal slumber so as to rid the world of his cursed bloodline. And finally, Grant returns to his own home and life, satisfied that his family's deaths were not without his retribution.
