Juste Belmont (Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance)

Grandson to the famed Simon Belmont, Juste Belmont inherits the ancestral Vampire Killer Whip at the age of 16. He befriends his vampire-hunting rival Maxim Kischine, and the two have matching bracelets forged to signify their loyalty to each other as friends. However, Maxim, feeling low on self-esteem for having been bested by Juste, begins searching for a way to feel himself an equal to him. He leaves on what he claims to be a "training expedition" for two years, only to return with amnesia and injuries. And what's worse, their childhood friend Lydie Erlanger, who also happens to be Juste's love interest, has been kidnapped.

Maxim leads Juste to an most troubling discovery - a large, ominous castle looming in the misty distance. They both enter and explore it and seek answers, having to fight deathly forces along their separate ways. Juste happens upon Death, who is just as confused at the unexpected arrival of Castlevania as he is, and Death simply ignores him, continuing his search for answers. Juste runs into Maxim again later on, and Maxim reveals from his still-fragmented memory that he had gone off to go prove himself worthy by recovering Count Dracula's body parts, reviving him, and destroying him, much like Simon Belmont had 50 years prior. Shocked by the news, Juste continues on his own way, encountering Death once again, who tells him that Maxim now has two sides to him, the evil side being created by the dark power of Dracula's remains, and that from that evil side came yet another castle - two "shades" of the same castle, as it were. Juste follows Death through the portal to go find Lydie and prevent Maxim from being completely taken over by Dracula's dark powers as Death would bring the two castles together.
  
Fighting even more hordes of ghosts, demons, and monsters in "Castle B", Juste and Death finally engage each other in combat, with Juste emerging victorious. He finds all of Dracula's remains, as well as Lydie herself (who's been bitten by Maxim), and proceeds to go and fight Maxim, who has now been overcome by Dracula's power. In the midst of a fierce fight, Maxim sees that Juste is wearing both his bracelet and his own bracelet, and tries fighting back against his evil side. Begging Juste to finish him off and rid him of his evil, an unstable bodily form of Dracula finally emerges from Maxim and attacks Juste, who promptly defeats him, sending his incomplete dark soul back to its Hellish resting place until his proper time to rise again came. Juste escapes the crumbling castle with Maxim and Lydie, who regains consciousness and reminds the two that everything will be alright.
