Trevor Belmont (Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse)

In 15th-Century Europe, Count Vlad Tepes Dracula began his reign of terror across the land using his undead, demonic armies of darkness. After continuously-unsuccessful attempts at stopping the menace, the church began its search for the vampire-hunting Belmont clan, which had been banished many years prior out of fear for their powers. Sure enough, they came across a mighty Belmont named Trevor, who set out to defeat Dracula with his ancestral weapon: the Vampire Killer, a whip infused with holy power. After a prayer for strength and protection in the ruins of an old chapel, he begins his infiltration of the castle.

Along the way, he runs into new allies: the acrobatic Grant Danasty, who'd been turned into a grotesque creature upon his defeat by Dracula, the powerful sorceress and church-ordained vampire hunter Sypha Belnades, who'd been turned into a statue upon her defeat, and the dormant son of Dracula himself, Adrian F. Tepes - better known as Alucard, who opposes his father's agenda.

Upon their defeat of Dracula, Grant goes home with the satisfaction of avenging his dead parents, Alucard submerges into what's supposed to be an eternal slumber out of guilt and feeling himself unwelcome in the world, and Sypha and Trevor get married, thus merging the Belmont and Belnades families. And most importantly of all, the Belmont clan is welcomed back into Transylvanian society, with a newfound respect and acknowledged superiority among vampire hunters. When Dracula rises from his grave, the next heir to the Belmont name and honor will be ready...
